Questions merchants ask before installing.
How is COD Affiliates different from Refersion, GoAffPro, UpPromote or Social Snowball?
Those apps were built for stores that get paid online at checkout. They mark a commission as earned the moment the order is created. For Cash on Delivery merchants — where 30 to 50 percent of orders cancel before delivery — that means paying commission on revenue you never collected. COD Affiliates flips that: commissions stay Pending until Shopify marks the order as paid. Only then do they become payable. It is the same affiliate marketing model adapted to how COD actually works.
Does it work if I only sell with card / online payment?
Yes. All three tracking methods (duplicate product, referral link, discount code) work for online-paid orders too. The COD confirmation logic just becomes redundant — Shopify marks card orders as paid instantly, so commissions flip to Confirmed immediately. If you do not sell with COD at all, a generic affiliate app probably fits you fine. We are optimized for merchants who deal with both payment types.
Do I need a separate COD form app like Releasit or EasySell?
No, COD Affiliates does not replace your COD form. It is an attribution and commission layer that sits on top of whatever you already use. Releasit COD Form, EasySell, Advanced Cash on Delivery, and Shopify's default COD payment method are all auto-detected. Custom checkout flows are supported on request.
How do the three tracking methods compare?
Duplicate product creates a unique variant per affiliate — the customer literally lands on a different SKU, so there is no attribution to lose. Best for paid social (TikTok, IG) where in-app browsers and ad-blockers break cookies. Referral link is the classic UTM + cookie method, best for blog posts, YouTube descriptions, email. Discount code assigns a coupon per affiliate that the customer types at checkout — best for influencer marketing where the call to action is verbal. Most merchants use a mix.
Which countries does it work in?
Any Shopify store, anywhere. We optimize for the Cash-on-Delivery-heavy markets: Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, India, UAE, Egypt, Morocco, Philippines, Indonesia. If your store is in a market not listed, the app works the same — you just may not need the COD-specific features as much.
How do I pay affiliates?
COD Affiliates tracks what each affiliate has earned (Pending and Confirmed). You handle the actual payout outside the app — bank transfer, PayPal, USDT, Wise, store credit, whatever fits your market. We export a clean CSV per pay cycle so you can run payments however you want, without us holding your money.
How does the Free plan work — and what happens when you exit beta?
Right now (under 100 merchants installed) every plan is free with no limits enforced. When we hit 100 installs we introduce the Pro ($9.99/mo) and Scale ($29.99/mo) tiers. The first 100 merchants who install during beta keep the Free plan forever — no rug pull, no forced upgrade. Pricing will only ever go in your favor.
How do I cancel?
One click in Settings. No phone call, no email chain, no "are you sure" dialog. Your data stays for 30 days in case you come back. After that it is permanently deleted.
